SUSTAINABILITY
Life Force Goes Green
For Life Force, being environmentally aware is our commitment and focus. We've devoted our business to helping our communities achieve health and wellness, and we've extended this dedication to include the global community. Thus, by reducing our carbon footprint, we're ensuring our reach and impact support this vision.
Going green starts at home, so we've employed some green-inspired and innovative measures at our home office, from planting drought-free plants to company-wide recycling. Read on to learn about these and other green-friendly initiatives.
The Light of Life Force
We use a state-of-the-art lighting system in our shipping facility. These sensor-activated six-lamp, T8 high-bay fixtures help us save about 133,000 Kilowatts per hour (kWh) of energy a year. This translates into a reduction of about 80,000 lbs. of carbon emissions per year. Moreover, our lighting system saves enough energy to power at least 12 houses a year - that's a whopping 132,480 kWh of power!
Reduce, Reuse & Recycle
We use 100-percent biodegradable packaging peanuts from vegetable starch; our Body BalanceĀ® bottles are wrapped in EarthFirst PLA film, which is made from biodegradable 100-percent renewable field corn; and all of our product bottles (plastic and glass) are 100-percent recyclable and reusable.
In addition, in our home office, we've implemented a company-wide recycling initiative, so that all of the little post-its, printer paper, and bottles and cans our team uses daily will make it to recycling bins instead of land fills.
Going Green is Our Business
The bottom line: We're committed to supporting the global green initiative and will continue to do our part to improve the lives of our global community in health, wellness, and environmental sustainability. We will continue to look for more efficiencies as we move forward in all areas.
We hope we've inspired you to make some changes in your home and business. Going green is easier than you think - just apply a little of your business sense: Investing in a little change here and there over time pays big dividends - for both you and planet earth. | |
